LEARN LEVANTINE ARABIC BY SPEAKING IT
Most Arabic apps teach Modern Standard Arabic — the language of news anchors, not of Beirut cafés. Allomorpheus gives you an AI tutor that converses in Levantine Arabic (Syrian, Lebanese, Palestinian, Jordanian), so you learn the dialect people actually speak — شو، بدك، عم، هيك and all.

WHY LEVANTINE, NOT MSA?
> MSA is for reading the news. Levantine is for talking to people.
A TUTOR THAT SPEAKS SHAMI
Type or speak, and your AI tutor answers in natural Levantine — with the b- prefix for the present tense, عم for ongoing actions, and the negations and fillers native speakers use. It adapts to your level and explains every correction in English. More about AI speaking practice.
THE ROOT SYSTEM, MADE PLAYABLE
Arabic vocabulary is built from three-letter roots — ك-ت-ب gives you كتاب (book), مكتب (office), كاتب (writer). Root Forge turns the roots in your vocabulary into word families you can explore. Read how the Arabic root system works.
SCRIPT, SOUNDS, AND SPELLING
Interactive Arabic letter trainers teach the alphabet in context — initial, medial, and final forms — with audio for every letter and word. No Romanization crutch unless you ask for it.
VOCABULARY THAT STICKS
Every word you tap — in conversation, in a Fairuz lyric, in an article — is saved with its context and scheduled for spaced review, with one-click Anki export. See Anki language learning and spaced repetition for language learning.
LEVANTINE ARABIC — FAQ
What is Levantine Arabic?
Levantine Arabic (Shami) is the spoken dialect of Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan — roughly 40 million native speakers. It is what you hear in Levantine films, music, and daily life, and it is mutually intelligible across the four countries.
Should I learn Levantine or MSA first?
If your goal is conversation, start with Levantine: it is simpler grammatically (no case endings, no dual verb forms) and immediately usable with native speakers. MSA matters for formal reading and writing — and a Levantine foundation makes MSA much easier to add later.
Can I really learn a dialect from an app?
Dialects are learned through conversation and content, not grammar tables — which is exactly what apps were missing until AI tutors. Combine daily AI conversation with Levantine music study and article reading, and review it all with spaced repetition.
